South Tyrol is one of the world’s oldest grape-growing areas, with wine having been made here for over 2000 years. This has provided a treasure trove of experience that is reflected by the excellent quality of wines produced. The special earth and the Mediterranean climate around Lake Kaltern in combination with cool alpine air flows make our wine-growing area unique.

Kaltern am See is among the most beautiful wine-growing villages in Europe. And how many villages are able to claim that they press their own wine – in this case the “Kalterersee”? The white and red wines from Kaltern, which is located directly on the South Tyrolean wine road, are among the best in both South Tyrol and, indeed, the whole of Italy.
